India’s leading telecom operator, Bharti Airtel is in final talk with Tikona Digital Networks to buy the 4G spectrum for Rs 1000 crore.
The report said that the company Tikona has some debt on its books which Bharti Airtel will think, increasing the total deal value to Rs 1500-1700 crore.
Tikona Digital Networks has airwaves in the 2300MHz band, which it purchased in 2010 auctions in Himanchal Pradesh, UP (West), UP (East) and Gujarat and Rajasthan for Rs 1058 crore. Currently, Tikona is running a commercial pilot to offer high speed internet services, company is targeting home and enterprise users.
By this deal Bharti Airtel to increase its capacity to offer data services to its customers. Also it will help Airtel fill the cracks in 2,300 MHz. Airtel is going to strengthen its existence in the 1800 MHz band. Bharti Airtel will give access to 4 crore 40 lakh customers 43.4 MHz of spectrum in 1800 MHz band.
This will help Bharti Airtel to provide better services to its customers and also Bharti Airtel is going to strengthen its current 1800 MHz band.
