On Friday, Swedish auto maker Volvo Cars launched its new performance oriented sedan car Volvo S60 Polestar at a starting price Rs 52.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). With this car, company is looking for push in luxury segment and company sets the target to sell over 2000 vehicles in India this year.
The Volvo S60 Polestar is powered by 2-litre, twin charged petrol engine. In 1996, Polestar was founded as motorsport team and now is the performance brand of Volvo Cars after it acquisition in 2015.
Managing Director Tom Von Bonsdrorff told PTI that “With the S60 Polestar, we are plugging the gap we had. Now we have complete range of vehicles in the luxury segment.”
He also said that, “We hope this will give us a push in the performance segment.”
He said on the new model, “The performance segment is something that adds to the desirability of the brand.”
The Volo S60 Polestar will compete with the Audi S5, Mercedes C43 AMG, CLA45 AMG. It is the 9th model of Volvo Company has launched in India.
